About A Guiding Light
A Guiding Light provides a one-stop-shop of information, guidance, and educational services for healthcare professionals counseling anyone facing a terminal illness / end of life. Our certified professionals, once trained, become a highly specialized life coach, or guide for their patients.
We are here to help loved ones prepare and cope with the unfamiliar and often challenging moments in life by training professional counselors to help their patients and families create a plan, stay in control, preserve dignity, and find resources that are most important to their wishes.
We are not alone when our journey in life begins. A Guiding Light makes sure we aren't alone when that journey approaches the end. We all have choices and options. We have concerns and needs that matter. We need someone to be an advocate, a Guide, who knows what is available and can help with advice while respecting your beliefs and preserving your dignity along the way.
A Guiding Light, Inc. certified professionals ensure the client's privacy is always kept completely confidential and protected by HIPAA guidelines for medical information and by professional counselor/client privilege.

Why is A Guiding Light a non-profit 501(c)(3)?
We recognize that sometimes those who need help the most are the least able to afford it. A Guiding Light is here to help regardless of ability to pay.
We also provide scholarship support or tuition assistance for select highly qualified professionals each year who apply. This is all possible through the generous charity of those who can afford to help others with their gift of kindness and compassion.
